Outlook Email Configuration (DUHosting Email) Print

  • Microsoft Outlook, cPanel, Imap Setup, SMTP Server, Cannot connect to server
  • 74

This guide helps you configure your DUHosting business email in Microsoft Outlook (2016/2019/365) using IMAP (recommended) or POP3, including the most common troubleshooting fixes.

Before you start

You need:

  • Your full email address (example: info@yourdomain.co.tz)

  • The correct email password (the one created in cPanel Email Accounts)

  • Your mail server settings (recommended: copy them from cPanel → Email Accounts → “Connect Devices” / “Set Up Mail Client”)

Tip: If you don’t know the exact server/ports, always pull them from cPanel to avoid mismatches after migrations.

Option A (Recommended):

IMAP Setup

(keeps mail synced)

  1. Open OutlookFileAdd Account

  2. Enter your email address → choose Advanced options → tick Let me set up my account manually

  3. Select IMAP

  4. Fill in:

    • Incoming mail (IMAP) server: use the server shown in cPanel (often mail.yourdomain.tld or a server IP)

    • IMAP Port: usually 993 (SSL/TLS) or 143 (Non-SSL)

    • Encryption: SSL/TLS (recommended)

  5. Outgoing (SMTP):

    • SMTP Server: use the server shown in cPanel

    • SMTP Port: usually 587 (STARTTLS) or 465 (SSL/TLS)

    • Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication

    • Choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server

  6. Save → Send a test email

Common problems & fixes

  • “Cannot connect to server”

    • Confirm the server name/IP and port from cPanel

    • Try switching SMTP port between 587 and 465

  • Keeps asking for password

    • Reset the email password in cPanel and re-enter it in Outlook

  • Emails download but can’t send

    • Make sure SMTP authentication is enabled + correct SMTP port

  • Certificate warning

    • Use the server name recommended by cPanel (often avoids certificate mismatch)
