This guide helps you configure your DUHosting business email in Microsoft Outlook (2016/2019/365) using IMAP (recommended) or POP3, including the most common troubleshooting fixes.
Before you start
You need:

Your full email address (example:
info@yourdomain.co.tz) -
The correct email password (the one created in cPanel Email Accounts)

Your mail server settings (recommended: copy them from cPanel → Email Accounts → “Connect Devices” / “Set Up Mail Client”)
Tip: If you don’t know the exact server/ports, always pull them from cPanel to avoid mismatches after migrations.
Option A (Recommended):
IMAP Setup
(keeps mail synced)
Open Outlook → File → Add Account
Enter your email address → choose Advanced options → tick Let me set up my account manually
Select IMAP
Fill in:
Incoming mail (IMAP) server: use the server shown in cPanel (often
mail.yourdomain.tldor a server IP)IMAP Port: usually
993(SSL/TLS) or143(Non-SSL)Encryption: SSL/TLS (recommended)
Outgoing (SMTP):
SMTP Server: use the server shown in cPanel

Common problems & fixes
“Cannot connect to server”
Confirm the server name/IP and port from cPanel
Try switching SMTP port between 587 and 465
Keeps asking for password
Reset the email password in cPanel and re-enter it in Outlook
Emails download but can’t send
Make sure SMTP authentication is enabled + correct SMTP port
Certificate warning
Use the server name recommended by cPanel (often avoids certificate mismatch)
