How to Install SSL Certificate on cPanel (AutoSSL + Manual) Print

Summary

SSL secures your website (https) and improves trust + SEO.

Option A (Recommended): AutoSSL (Free)

1. Login to cPanel

2. Open SSL/TLS Status

3. Select the domains you want

4. Click Run AutoSSL

5. Wait for completion

Option B: Manual SSL (CSR + CRT)

Use this if you purchased a paid SSL.

1. cPanel → SSL/TLS

2. Generate CSR

3. Submit CSR to your SSL provider

4. Receive:

   • Certificate (CRT)

   • CA Bundle

5. cPanel → Install and Manage SSL for your site (HTTPS)

6. Paste CRT + CA Bundle → Install

Troubleshooting

• SSL installed but site still “Not Secure” → see article #5 (Mixed Content + Redirect fix)

• Certificate mismatch → ensure domain in certificate matches the exact domain visitors use (www vs non-www)
